4 Ways to Make Breastfeeding More Intentional

Breastfeeding is a full time job, but it’s a blessing meant to make the new mom actually sit and rest after giving birth.

Here are some ideas on making a space for nursing your baby that will help you to rest and enjoy this special time.

Pick a devotional or book to read

This is a great time to read from a devotional , read or listen to a book (Audible is a great resource!), or start a Bible reading plan (the YouVersion Bible app has lots of great plans and you can listen instead of read).

Have a prayer list

Taking time to pray for your baby, friends, and family is a wonderful way to spend your time nursing.

Listen to music

Pick a playlist that encourages you. Chances are, your baby will love the music, too!

Put your phone away

If you use your phone to listen to music or books, put it far enough away from you that you won’t be able to pick it up and look at it.

Nursing can be a gift of intentional time! Take those precious moments to allow yourself to relax and recharge.
